Safety – Company Priority, Community Effort

Safety – A Company Priority
Safety is a top priority at Homewood Disposal and all of our sister companies. We strive to provide a safe work environment for our employees, as well as our customers and the general public. Several people within our organization monitor safety-related regulations and changes to ensure continued compliance. We also share best safety management practices with other companies throughout our industry. Homewood Disposal continues to improve upon our current work practices through:
– ongoing employee training,
– providing educational and awareness information to our customers via brochures, letters, and our website, and
– outreach efforts within our community and service areas.

Safety — A Community Effort
One example of an awareness program is the campaign “Slow Down and Go Around”. This focuses on one of the most common hazards our drivers face: other motorists. Another daily hazard is items in the waste stream that can cause damage or injury to our employees. Examples include: flammable materials, heavy and/or bulky items, and loose needles and medical waste. Homewood Disposal is committed to working with our customers to impress upon them the need for proper disposal of these items. Visit our website to learn how to properly dispose of hard to handle waste.

It takes a team effort to keep employees, customers and the public safe. With almost 60 years under our belt, Homewood Disposal has created a solid tradition of safety. Here are some of the drivers and service technicians that are building upon that tradition of safety.
