Job Summary

The Roll-Off Dispatcher position is integral to customer satisfaction. Our temporary dumpster service provides commercial and residential customers with large dumpsters for construction and clean up projects. As a dispatcher you will be responsible for meeting and exceeding customer expectations through accurate, prompt, and efficient roll-off dispatching.  Communication is key as you balance the workload and available resources. Effective phone and written skills are necessary as you communicate to customers, your office team, and driver team.  Strong analytical skills are needed to determine the most cost-effective and timely location dump each load.  Decisions are dependent on type of material, weight, traffic, scheduled work, etc.

In addition to the primary function of dispatching, you will also be required to provide customers with quotes on a variety of roll-off dumpster services. Each quote is crafted to effectively meet the need of the customer.  You will work closely with the roll-off sales team to ensure our service promises are fulfilled.  This fast-paced environment requires the upmost professionalism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily work load for drivers efficiently, analytically and safely
  • Work with sales team and other dispatchers to complete work in efficient manner
  • Communicate with customers confirming needs, issues, and requests
  • Communicate with sales team about job specifics (time, eta, placement, size etc.)
  • Relay information to drivers regarding specific job site/customer needs
  • Track daily work troubleshooting any problems that may arise
  • Verify paperwork supplied by drivers for accuracy before input into the billing system
  • Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned
  • Work with supervisor’s making them aware of any unsafe situations, problems with drivers, and letting them know if other drivers are needed to complete the work.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-year associates degree or 2 years of relevant work experience

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required

  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Work experience that required the use of a computer
  • Ability to use Google Maps or other mapping software
  • Work in a team environment
  • Attention to detail
  • Stay calm and respectful in stressful situations
