Job Summary
The Residential Accounts / Customer Service department takes care of all the residents and municipalities that choose Homewood Disposal to haul their waste, recycle, and yard waste. They work alongside the Residential Dispatch department in securing new customers and managing existing ones. This department is the first point of contact for the many needs of our residential customers.
As a part of the Residential Accounts / Customer Service department, this position is vital to Homewood Disposal’s image in terms of professionalism and excellence as you will be engaging in conversations with customers daily, providing “The kind of service others only promise”. This position is crucial to our long-term success in the solid waste and recycling industry. This position is 100% in the office. The pay is between $20 – $23/hr. Our office hours are M-F, 8-5.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Greet customers in person and over the phone
• Assist customers with payments in person and over the phone
• Balance and process customer payments
• Answer and direct incoming calls to proper departments
• Process and distribute incoming mail
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries
• Manage the setting up of new customers, changes in service, and cancellations
• Coordinate the delivery and retrieval of company equipment
• Prepare and process customer statements for billing
• Make collection calls for past due customers
• All other duties assigned
Requirements
· Bilingual in English/Spanish
· Self-Motivated, outgoing, positive, pleasant personality
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Ability to work independently and within a group environment
· Ability to learn / adapt to the task at hand.
· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
· Experience with Microsoft Office; Excel and Word required
· Good PC and typing skills
Education and Experience
• 4-year college degree or 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
