Parts and Maintenance Clerk

Job Summary
Homewood Disposal has hundreds of vehicles to maintain, thousands of parts for these vehicles, and multiple repair shops completing repairs each day. We have a buttoned up and digitized parts tracking and ordering system, we just need you to help administer it.
The parts and maintenance clerk supports the shop manager and helps administer the vehicle management program. Vehicle maintenance is essential to serving our customers. We need our trucks running in top shape to keep our promises each day. With hundreds of vehicles to maintain and repair, this position is essential to the health of Homewood Disposal. Other responsibilities include data entry, auditing the parts room, helping with vendor relations and assisting the shop manager in other tasks necessary to the operation of the shop.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Parts
• Enter all ordered parts into purchase order
• Verify the costs of all parts
• Regularly monitor parts usage for the company
• Audit parts room
• Help shop manager monitor vendor relationships
• Help track parts warranties, part returns, and core parts
• Monitor back orders
• Parts pick up and delivery to our local vehicle maintenance locations
Maintenance
- Maintain asset files on computer and paper
- Help to administer vehicle maintenance program
- Audit engine hours and miles on all assets
- Manage repair work orders and enter them into the system
- Help track and manage costs associated with fleet and facilities from outside vendors
- Help to maintain shop computers and laptops
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- 4 year degree (preferred)
- Some technical knowledge regarding vehicle maintenance and repair (preferred)
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office; and Excel required
- Work experience that required the use of a computer
- General computer knowledge
