Residents in the many unincorporated areas of Wilmington can also sign up for weekly waste collection. Homewood Disposal, also known as NuWay Disposal, provides top quality household garbage and recycling services through individual subscriptions. We also offer a full line of dumpsters to rent for temporary cleanup projects. We love serving the entire Wilmington area. Your Residential Waste Services
– Weekly pickup
– Customers are billed quarterly by NuWay Disposal.
– Garbage may be placed in garbage bags or your own 32-gallon cans, weighing no more than 50 pounds each.
– Large 95-gallon wheeled garbage carts are also available to rent. See our online order form.
– White goods (refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, dryers, etc.) will be picked up for an extra charge. Please call the office before placing these items out for pickup.

– Recyclables are picked up every week on your regular pickup day.
– Recyclables can be placed in the recycle bins or bags provided to each home.
Some items you need to dispose of can’t be accepted by Homewood Disposal. This happens for various reasons, such as landfill restrictions. These items are referred to as “hard to handle.” Currently, we cannot accept the following hard to handle items:electronics, hazardous material, propane tanks and batteries. We do, however, offer alternative removal options.

Helpful Hints

- Please have all material at the curb by 6am on your pick up day. It may be helpful to place your material at the curb the night before your pick up.

- Please place your garbage in bags before you put it in your cans or carts. This helps prevent materials from blowing out of the can and also reduces odor in your container.
