Dumpster Tips & Resources

  • There are limits to the weight a dumpster can hold. Weight maximums increase with the size of your dumpster. Please reference your quote, or ask our team for more details.
  • Waste must remain level to the sides of the dumpster.
  • If you need the back door of the dumpster to open, allow at least 6 feet between structures and the dumpster
  • To reduce the risk of driveway or lawn damage, place wood prior to our arrival. 3 pieces of 2×6 lumber, or 2 sheets of plywood will work.
  • Contact your village to find out if a permit is required for your dumpster.

Environmental Guidelines

  • No e-waste, such as tv’s, computers, printers, washers, dryers, and kitchen appliances.
  • No hazardous waste, oils, gases or chemicals.
  • No old car parts, such as car engines and rubber tires.
  • Mattresses disposal is an additional charge.
  • Please do not mix yard waste with other waste. It is important to keep these separate.

Our dumpsters have a full door that swings open for easy loading. 10 yard and 15 yard dumpster are easy to load from the top.

When you load your dumpster, please do not overload material. Keep it level full. Our trucks cannot travel with overfilled dumpsters. If it’s heavy material, make sure weight is evenly distributed from side to side and front to back.

Keep in mind that dumpsters have tonnage capacities and load limits. If you are disposing of especially heavy materials, like dirt, concrete and bricks, make sure you let us know and we can advise you on your specific tonnage limitations.

We pride ourselves in having some of the highest weight capacity included in your cost. If you’re shopping around be sure you ask about tonnage limits, we think you’ll find our dumpsters hold the most material at a great price.

Contact your village to find out if a permit is required for your dumpster and for other instructions. A temporary dumpster on private property rarely requires a permit. A dumpster placed on the street often requires village approval or permit.

The word “Yard” in our dumpster sizes refers to one cubic yard. It’s an industry standard used to reference the size of large waste containers. A cubic yard is 3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet. A simple way to think of a cubic yard is that it’s about the size of a washing machine. A 20 yard dumpster holds approximately 20 washing machines worth of material.
