Job Summary
This position is customer service based with a focus on dispatching commercial routes and selling construction roll off dumpsters. You are expected to process and receive phone calls and emails from customers in a professional and timely manner. Keep an active daily log sheet consisting of customers that call in, so you can follow up with them at the end of the day.
The Roll Off Sales / Customer Service department quotes new services and resolves customer issues. This position collaborates with the dispatch team to meet department objectives and improve our customer service to provide “The kind of service others only promise.” The Roll Off Sales / Customer Service position is vital to our company’s image in professionalism and excellence; as you will be engaging in conversations with customers daily. This position is crucial to our long-term success in the solid waste and recycling industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Answer phones to communicate with customers to sell roll off dumpster services.
• Dispatch Commercial routes digitally and over the phone.
• Communicate with drivers effectively with respect.
• Assist drivers with billing of extras or blocked stops.
• Confirm understanding of customer needs, issues, and requests.
• Respond to customer complaints in a timely manner. Investigate and solve issues upon request.
• Collaborate with department, operations, and sales representatives to meet and exceed customers’ expectations.
• Develop and sustain customer relationships.
• Support other service lines when required.
• Sequence and prepare routes daily
• Verify paperwork supplied by drivers for accuracy before inputting into the billing system.
• Assist with customers who come into the office to order Construction Roll Off services.
• Ability to learn / adapt to the task at hand.
• Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned.
• Keep a positive attitude for yourself and the rest of the office.
Requirements
• Self-Motivated, outgoing, positive, pleasant personality
• Enjoys making outbound calls
• Ability to work independently and within a group environment
Education and Experience
• 4-year college degree or 2 years of relevant work experience preferred
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
• Experience with Microsoft Office; basic Excel required
• Work experience that required the use of a computer
