Preventative Maintenance Technician

A family owned business for over 50 years, Homewood Disposal has grown from a small scavenger service to a full range solid waste, transportation, recycling, and disposal service company. Our fleet of trucks, equipment and service vehicles requires daily maintenance from our crews of mechanics.

The Preventative Maintenance Technician position will work to keep all equipment in peak running condition through an effective and detailed maintenance schedule. He/she performs at a high standard of quality at the division service shop.  He/she will master the operating standards of the company. The technician will work on Diesel, Gas and Natural Gas operating systems.

Requirements

  • Own a tool set capable of supporting a general heavy equipment fleet and internal combustion engine maintenance
  • Must be able to lift 50+ lbs
  • Work under minimal supervision
  • Comply with all Homewood Disposal Safety rules
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Valid Class B driver’s license in good standing

Educational Background

  • High school degree (preferred)

General knowledge of and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot

  • Internal Combustion Engines (both gas and diesel)
  • DC Electrical Systems 12, 24, 48 volts
