Wendy the Waste Truck® was created in honor of Wendell (Wendy) Yonker, the founder of Homewood Disposal Service. Wendy is quite popular these days! He is always getting invited to fun events in the area like Irish Parades, Memorial and Labor Day Parades, 4th of July Parades and many community touch-a-truck events. He loves getting out in the communities that he serves and spending time with fellow garbage and recycling truck enthusiasts!
Keeping Villages Clean for Generations to Come
Our partner Diversified Recycling sorts and processes hundreds of tons of recyclables each day from nearby towns and businesses. We’ve been sorting together for over 30 years and they’re one of the Midwest’s largest recycling facilities. We’re committed to sorting all the material deposited into recycling containers and proving new life to old materials.
Village Air Quality – Trucks That Run on Natural Gas
Compressed natural gas, also known as CNG, is an eco-friendly alternative to diesel fuel. Many of our trucks run on this clean burning fuel. Think of it as an added bonus to a clean neighborhood – clean air. CNG also allows our trucks to be up to 50% quieter going down your local streets.
Educating in Your Community
Class is in session! Our team of recycling experts is ready to visit your school to educate students about the ways they can protect the environment. Our free program focuses on 1st – 6th grade students and addresses many of the state standards required for recycling education.
