Job Summary

The commercial accounts customer service department takes care of all the businesses (commercial and industrial) that choose Homewood Disposal to haul their waste and recycling. They work alongside our sales department in securing new customers and managing existing customers. This department is the first point of contact for many of the needs our customers have.

The commercial accounts customer service department collaborates with the sales team to meet department objectives and improve our customer service to provide “the kind of service others only promise.” This position is vital to our company’s image in professionalism and excellence as you will be engaging in conversations with customers daily. This position is crucial to our long-term success in the solid waste and recycling industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Bilingual in English/Spanish
• Manage the service agreement program
• Manage the customer files
• Credit reports and Certificates of Insurance
• Customer service phone calls – include billing questions and general inquiries
• Enter all new accounts, service changes, and discontinues in the computer – inform the route driver of these changes using work orders
• Collection of receivables – call past due customers to encourage them to pay
• Bill commercial customers – make sure all information (weights, PO #s, etc.) is entered into customer accounts
• Ensure invoices are printed, sorted, and then mailed / e-mailed each month
• Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned
• Keep a positive attitude for yourself and the rest of the office

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED
• 4-year college degree or 2 years of relevant work experience preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a group environment
• Ability to learn / adapt to the task at hand
• Ability to multitask

Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
• Experience with Microsoft Office; basic excel required
• Work experience that required the use of a computer
