New CNG Public Fueling Station Features First CNG Compressor of its Design in Illinois

Homewood Disposal is opening the area’s first public CNG fueling station in mid-August at its Homewood, Illinois location. Any vehicle that runs on compressed natural gas, including the company’s garbage trucks, can fill up at the 175th street location.

Clean Energy installed the station which features the groundbreaking new CleanCNG™ Compressor, the first of its design in Illinois.

Compressed natural gas is produced in North America and emits 90% fewer emissions than diesel. Transitioning a portion its fleet to CNG and opening a public fueling station is part of Homewood Disposal’s ongoing commitment to cleaner neighborhoods and a healthier environment.
