Become an important part of the Diversified Recycling team. The maintenance manager is responsible for leading the maintenance team and performing maintenance. You’ll ensure work is performed in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for performing maintenance and providing direction to Maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity within the facility.  This position reports to the Plant Manager.

Diversified Recycling, Inc. is a recycling company operating in East Hazel Crest, Illinois.  We sort and process recyclable materials for sale. Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise and direct Maintenance Techs
  • Schedule necessary work and distribute PM’s
  • Review daily inspection sheets
  • Order parts in coordination with Plant Manager
  • Document and organize inventory
  • Communicate a positive atmosphere with co-workers
  • Coordinate projects with Plant Manager
  • Diagnose mechanical malfunctions
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on recycling equipment to maximize safe and productive operations (hands-on position). Tasks include but are not limited to, routine maintenance and repair/replacement of: Hydraulic Systems, Electrical Systems, Conveyors, Compactors, Sorting Screens, Electric motors, Optical Sorters, Rollers and Bearings, Balers
  • Review Maintenance Tech paperwork associated with repair of equipment. Account for hours, parts, and safe work practices.
  • Respond quickly during emergency breakdowns
  • Weekend work will be required to ensure projects are getting done correctly, safely, and efficiently
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures

Experience/Education/Certification

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent technical training
  • 5 years of maintenance experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical wiring, circuits, and switches
  • Able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment, including diagnostic tools
  • Experience planning and creating maintenance schedules
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work independently as well within a team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Preferred – ability to read, write, and speak Spanish

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift, carry and push / pull heavy items and/or equipment greater than 50 lbs.
  • Climb into and out of equipment
  • Exposure to noise, odors, dust and temperature conditions
