Facilities Maintenance Position

Job Summary
This position is part of a maintenance team that maintains all facilities owned or operated by the Homewood family of companies. Facilities are located throughout the south suburbs of Chicago and NW Indiana. Facility maintenance is responsible for making sure inspections are completed and buildings are up to Code.  You’ll provide solutions and repairs after troubleshooting issues. This position also provides timely customer service by addressing needed repairs to customer sites.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Schedule, oversee, report on any necessary or required inspections for any of our properties.
  • Perform and document internal property inspections focusing on areas in need of repair or improvement.
  • Work with our safety staff and our operations staff to evaluate necessary repairs.
  • Create and maintain relevant company safety standards.
  • Work with other management to satisfy the company’s ever-changing needs and demands regarding the facilities.
  • Maintain and repair the inside and outside of buildings (including landscaping, mailboxes, fences, corrals, and driveway issues – rust removal, cold patch, and cement)
  • Professional, respectful conduct whenever interacting with customers, coworkers and members of the general public.
  • Work with other company departments to anticipate and solve customer needs.
  • Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience
• High School Diploma or GED
5 years of relevant experience

Other Knowledge, Skills or Preferred Abilities
• Mechanically Inclined, Ability to Troubleshoot
• General: Carpentry, Plumbing, Electric, HVAC
• Painting, Drywall, repairs Flooring
• Landscaping: leveling, sod work, seeding
• Commercial power washing
• Safe Work Practice
• Operate forklift, manlift
• Experience pulling trailer
• Ability to navigate on a tablet or PC
• Ability to follow directions and instructions
• Ability to work as a team
