Homewood Disposal Service is seeking an outgoing undergraduate student in the Chicagoland /NW Indiana area who is majoring in communication, journalism, marketing, graphic design or advertising. Someone who’s creative and loves telling engaging and educational stories. This person should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an introductory knowledge of social media.
This is a hands-on learning experience rooted in real time work situations. With the assistance of our marketing director, interns will be responsible for creating, editing and submitting articles and blogs to help grow our online presence. Additional tasks include assisting with video shoots, email communications, event planning, community engagement, social media posts, webpage design, and keyword analysis.
Demonstrated success in creative writing and a high level of self-motivation are critical to your success in this role. Priority given to applicants with an introductory knowledge of the Adobe applications or familiar with business-minded social media management.

Over the past 9 years we’ve been managing a robust internship program with over 22 college students taking part so far. Our in-house marketing internship gives students the opportunity to not only experience the full breadth of the marketing process, but also gain a better understand marketing’s connection to business goals and objectives. The program is not focused primarily on “getting work out of the interns,” rather, we see this as a training internship. You’ll leave with experience in the marketing or sales process and exposure to many software tools.
