The importance of landscaping

Planning on selling your home?  Or maybe you just bought one?  When landscaping is done well, it greatly adds to your property value and tremendously increases curb appeal.  Overgrown shrubs, dying trees, and messy vines not only create an eyesore, but are potentially dangerous to your home.

Trees can be of great value to your yard, but if there are dead branches or if it’s too close to your roof, a bad storm will become your worst nightmare.  Treacherous storms and damaging winds can cause trees or large branches to fall and may potentially damage your home.  Trimming branches or even removing dying trees is imperative for safety. 

Out with the old, in with the new

Before tearing out your landscaping and starting a new, be sure to map out your new design.  Beware of utility and property lines, a sprinkler system or even an electric fence.  Choose shrubs and trees carefully, as they will have a place in your yard for a long time.  Consider adding some flower beds to your landscape.  Flower beds are a simple, aesthetically pleasing, and relatively inexpensive way to add curb appeal to your landscaping.  Perennials are always a great choice because they return every year.

When sprucing up your home garden and patio area, you’ll need to plan where all the old dirt, stones, gravel and grass will go.  Disposing of landscaping debris and garden waste isn’t always easy. You’ll need to rent a dumpster to allow disposal of each unwanted branch, bush, and rock.

A 10-yard dumpster is well equipped to handle common types of yard debris during your landscaping makeover.  They can take on heavy items like dirt and concrete and fit nicely on residential driveways.  10-yard dumpsters have lower sides than 15 and 20-yard sizes.  Low sides allow for heavy items to be deposited easily inside.  Large branches and heavy debris won’t need to be hoisted over head.  The swinging door on the dumpster makes using a wheel barrow simple.  Remember that waste must remain level to the sides of the dumpster and not to mix your yard waste with other waste.  It is important to keep these separate.
