As of 2012, many electronics have been banned from Illinois landfills and waste haulers are no longer able to accept them in residential curbside waste programs. Homewood Disposal has developed a program for current residential customers to schedule an e-waste pickup.
Schedule your pick up and then simply place your electronics curbside near your trash containers. We’ll send an additional truck to your location for removal and proper recycling.
Bulk Items: The removal of one large bulk item each week is included with your weekly service at no additional charge. This includes furniture, mattresses, appliances, and neatly prepared small construction waste. Please call ahead if your waste is extremely large. A separate truck is sometimes sent to homes for larger furniture and appliances.
Hard to Handle Material: Some items can’t be disposed of by a traditional curbside pick up service. Examples of “hard to handle items” that are not accepted include: electronics, hazardous material, propane tanks, tires and batteries. These items need special care and can’t be accepted because of landfill restrictions and government regulation. Learn More >
